“Launch the new pricing page by Nov 15.” Add a due date and who's on it — or start from a CSV, Excel, Jira or Backlog.
AI splits it into 25–90-minute quests with owners, order, estimates and a “done when.” You edit and approve; each owner gets theirs.
Every morning AI picks 3–5 quests for today, and each person confirms them. Then they work as usual — no daily report, no timesheet to type.
The desktop app records time on the quest at hand. At natural breaks AI asks “Done?” with the evidence, and the person confirms. Goals move on their own.
AI does the planning and the bookkeeping. People do the work — and every finish counts.
AI makes the quests
Write a goal and AI breaks it into quests with owners, order, estimates and a “done when.” It also spots work that isn't a quest yet — and only the person who did it sees the suggestion.

Progress tracks itself
The desktop app records time on the quest you're working on. At natural breaks AI asks “Done?” and shows why it thinks so — you confirm. It never completes anything on its own.

Done?
It only asks at natural breaks — stop, switch, end of day. Only the person marks it done; AI never does.
A little game feel
Each morning AI picks 3–5 quests for today and you confirm them. Finishing one earns XP by its size and importance — never by hours or keystrokes. Levels, titles and badges add up, and team goals are won together.

Bring your tasks in once — from a CSV, Excel, Jira or Backlog — and FocusUp becomes the home of the work.

No — and that is a product decision. There is no stealth mode: recording starts after recorded consent, it can be paused, and the app is always visible. Keystroke content, camera and microphone are never recorded, and screenshots are off by default. Each person sees their own record first — the same record a manager sees — and when a manager opens it.
It shouldn't, and we recommend against it. XP depends only on a quest's size and importance — never on hours, keystrokes or activity — and it is never taken away. There are no rankings or comparisons between people. XP is there to make finishing feel good, not to grade anyone.
The goals and quests in your workspace and, from each person's computer, the app names, site names and window-title excerpts of their work time — never keystroke content, the camera or the microphone. Suggestions made from someone's own work are shown only to that person. AI never marks a quest done on its own: it asks, and the person decides.
No. Jira and Backlog can stay: FocusUp syncs them every 15 minutes and their issues become quests. Or import once from a CSV or Excel file and run the work in FocusUp from then on. Either way, time and progress are recorded per quest.
People do. AI drafts the breakdown of a goal — quests, owners, order, estimates and “done when” — and the manager edits and approves it before anyone receives it. Suggestions from someone's own work go only to them and take one tap to accept or dismiss, with at most 5 new AI suggestions per person per day.
The desktop app runs on macOS and Windows; everything else is in the browser. Plans come from CSV (Excel, Google Sheets), Jira Cloud or Backlog. Slack is optional (requests to @FocusUp become quests), and so are Google Calendar and Microsoft 365. IT can deploy the app to every computer at once.
On AWS in the Tokyo region. EU compliance mode turns on for EU signups — screenshots off, domain-only URLs, no window titles, 90-day maximum retention — and a DPA is available. Members can export or delete their own data.
