2,000+ hours recorded — and one contractor who was billing hours nobody worked
A Tokyo digital agency (15 people)
A fully remote agency rolled FocusUp out to employees and contractors to replace self-reported timesheets. Within weeks the objective record showed one contractor's logged hours diverging from actual activity, and gave the agency the evidence to end the engagement cleanly.

Challenge
Hours were self-reported in spreadsheets, contractors were paid by the hour, and the founders had no way to tell 'online' from 'working'. Status meetings were the only visibility and they ate the mornings.
Rollout
One workspace, everyone on the desktop app with recorded consent, screenshots off. Managers watched active vs. idle time and the daily AI report instead of asking; contractors saw the same record as the company.
Outcome
The record showed one contractor at 6+ hours 'tracked' with a fraction actually active, on a pattern the integrity radar flagged. The agency ended the contract with evidence rather than suspicion, and invoices to its own clients are now backed by the same record.
